Puget Sound Buddy Walk For National Down Syndrome Society
Seattle Center Square at Experience Music Project

Event Begins: 1:00 PM
Event Ends: 4:00 PM
Description: The Buddy Walk® brings together family, friends, professionals and community leaders from across Puget Sound for a day of celebration to promote acceptance, inclusion and respect of individuals with Down syndrome. This year we are celebrating the 21st Annual Puget Sound Buddy Walk® which will be one of more than 250 walks nationwide that raise awareness and funds to benefit individuals with Down syndrome and their families. The Buddy Walk® was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.
Outdoor event with speakers, booths, etc. Photo ops in designated area with kids, also, wander around interacting with crowd for pre-show from 1:00 - 1:45. A professional photographer also takes free photos which have been shared with GT/AB in the past. The walk, a short trip around Seattle Center, starts at 2:15. Legion members stand at the starting area and give high fives as the crowd walks by, or, participate in the walk. There are resource booths, speakers, a bounce house, etc. and then a band at the end of the walk.
